A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.
JESSICA LOPEZ, 25, of Rectory Road, Barry must pay £1,014 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence on St Nicholas Road on May 19.
Her driving record was endorsed with eight penalty points.
KYLE GITTENS, 25, of Subway Road, Barry was banned from driving for 15 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving with 56 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on Gladstone Road on June 30.
He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £48 surcharge.

DEAN JEREMY DAVIES, 54 of Gladstone Road, Barry must pay £650 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 100mph in a 70mph zone on the M4 motorway at Port Talbot on June 25.
His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
EWAN VINCENT, 19, of Claude Road West, Barry was sentenced to a 12-month community order and banned from driving for 21 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving with 87 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on the A4231 on the Barry Docks link road on July 2.
He must carry out 40 hours of unpaid work, complete a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay a £114 surcharge and £85 costs.
JOSHUA MORRISSEY, 28, of High Street, Barry was banned from driving for 17 months after he admitted attempting to drive a motor vehicle when his alcohol level was above limit – 188 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of urine – at Grovelands Farm, Moulton on September 22, 2023.
He must pay £400 costs and a £162 fine.
PAUL JOHN BARRON-SNOOKS, 28, of Dyfan Road, Barry must pay £258 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence on Walker Road on June 9.
His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
MARK JOHN ROBERT TREGILGAS, 45, of Castlewood Road, Sully must pay £1,140 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver.
His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
REBECCA HINDS-PAYNE, 42, of Clos Yr Harbwr, Barry, must pay £197 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after she pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention on the A4055 on Harbour Road on April 14.
Her driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
SHEREE HAYWARD, 33, of Redlands Road, Penarth was sentenced to a 24-month community order and banned from driving for 30 months after she pleaded guilty to drink driving with 120 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on Cowslip Drive on June 23.
She must complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement, was made the subject of a 90-day alcohol abstinence and monitoring requirement and pay a £114 surcharge and £85 costs.
FRANCIS HOCKING, 54, of Holton Road, Barry must pay £125 in a fine and costs after pleading guilty to being drunk and disorderly at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff on June 29.
PAUL CUMMINS, 53, of Masefield Road, Penarth must pay £760 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for riding a motorcycle without insurance on Port Road, Barry on June 16.
His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
MAX JACOB POLLOCK, 22, of St Athan Road, Flemingston, near Barry must pay £846 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on the A4232 at Cardiff Bay on June 12.
His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
