The concerts for Cowbridge Music Festival 2024 have been revealed.
On September 13, audiences will be treated to musical performances by The Castalian Quartet (a string quartet) & Rosalind Ventris (violist) at 7pm and violinist and composer Simmy Singh at 9.30pm. Both performances will take place at Holy Cross Parish Church.
The following day will feature soul pop artist Eädyth Crawford at Cowbridge Town Hall at 4pm and Welsh pianist Mr Llŷr Williams at Holy Cross Parish Church at 7pm.
Continuing the musical journey, there will be a concert on September 15 by soprano Mary Bevan, pianist Christopher Glynn, cellist Alice Neary and flautist Matthew Featherstone at 5pm. Their programme will celebrate the legacy of French song. This will be held at Holy Cross Parish Church.
The Young Ensemble's Concert is scheduled for September 17 at 7.30pm, a platform for talented young chamber musicians. They will present an eclectic mix of work at the United Free Church.
Violist Edgar Francis and pianist Jâms Coleman will present the Young Artists' Recital on September 18 at the same time over in Holy Cross Parish Church.
Welsh folk group Pedair will make their festival debut on September 19, 7.30pm at Holy Cross Parish Church
This will be followed at the venue by Connaught Brass and pianist Libby Burgess on September 20 at 7pm and 9.30pm.
A highlight of the festival will be the programme presented by Cardiff-based Cantemus Chamber Choir celebrating Welsh folk songs, on September 21, 7.30pm at Holy Cross Parish Church.
The festival comes to an end on September 22 with a Family Concert: Stories set to music by Toscana Strings at 11am in Cowbridge Comprehensive School Theatre, Festival Evensong at 5pm at Holy Cross Parish Church and Acoustic Triangle: Gwilym Simcock, Tim Garland and Malcolm Creese at 7.30pm at Cowbridge Comprehensive School Theatre
Now in its 14th year, the festival's expanded community programme aims to bring world-class music to the public.
The festival fosters both newly emerging talent and seasoned musicians, providing a unique opportunity for the community to enjoy classical music.
