The first Family Friday event in Barry has been hailed a success.
Organised by Mel Saunders, children and family's worker for Barry Uniting Church, the event held on Friday, July 26 drew in many families.
Taking place at Central Park, King Square, these gatherings aim to provide free family fun every Friday throughout the summer (excluding August 30) from 10am to 12pm.
Several groups such as Flying Start, Play Development, Family Information Service, and Community Safety Team, alongside Cardiff and Vale College, attended the first event.
They provided various activities, games, sports, and useful information.
Ms Saunders has plans to bring in additional groups and services in the weeks to come.
The event was established not only as a source of free entertainment for families during the summer holidays but also as an opportunity to connect them with valuable organisations.
It's an attempt to foster community spirit. For any queries or if an organisation wishes to take part in a future Family Friday, reach out to Ms Saunders at buclayworker@gmail.com.
Everyone is invited, and participation is completely free.
