Barry Dock RNLI's Trent all-weather lifeboat will be making its final journey this week.
The vessel (Lifeboat 14-29) has been stored at Penarth Marina since its replacement by a Shannon all-weather lifeboat came into service. The Trent lifeboat has received an overhaul before its last departure.
Departing from Penarth Marina this evening (July 23) around 6.30pm, it will sail from Penarth Marina and Cardiff Barrage for the last time.
It will then be met by the Shannon lifeboat between 7pm and 7.30pm, which will escort the Trent back to Barry Harbour.
The vessel will undergo final checks and refuel there, before undertaking its final journey out of Barry Docks to the RNLI All-Weather Lifeboat Centre in Poole on the morning of Wednesday, July 24 at about 9.30am.
Those wishing to bid the Trent a final farewell can find multiple viewing spots in and around Penarth Marina, Cardiff Barrage, and Barry Harbour.
