A DRIVER has allegedly fled the scene of a crash in the Vale and police are worried for their welfare.
A single vehicle crash occurred on Station Road, Dinas Powys, on the evening of Sunday, July 21, and police are trying to locate the driver.
The collision caused what police are describing as ‘serious damage to the car’ and when they got to the scene, the person who was driving it was gone.
On the incident, a spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “We were called to a single-vehicle crash which happened just before 9.20pm on Sunday, July 21, on Station Road, Dinas Powys.
“Officers were unable to locate the driver of the car at the scene.”
Inspector Joseph Smith added the police want to know the driver is ok.
“This collision caused significant damage to the car, a Black Mercedes AMG C class, and we have concerns about the driver’s welfare, who was not at the scene when we arrived,” said Inspector Smith.
"From the damage to the car we are concerned that they will need medical attention. We have made a number of enquiries including checking CCTV and local hospitals and would urge anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible."
