The Vale of Glamorgan Public Services Board (PSB) is aiming to make the county a better place to grow old.
The Public Services Board (PSB), in collaboration with community organisations and members of the public, seeks to improve conditions for aging citizens in the county.
The Vale became the fourth local authority area in Wales to receive Age Friendly Status from the World Health Organisation in October 2023.
This accolade recognised the commitment of partners and seniors to promote a favourable environment for all, with special consideration towards those aged 50 and over.
Presently, the PSB is developing an Age Friendly Action Plan.
The blueprint is being constructed by the Age Friendly Vale Network, represented by PSB members, community groups, third sector organisations and seniors to develop a fairer and improved living and working environment for older people in the Vale.
A consultation, open until Sunday, August 11, has been initiated to capture public input for the Age Friendly Vale Action Plan (2025–2028).
Cllr Ruba Sivagnanam, Vale of Glamorgan Council cabinet member for community engagement, equalities and regulatory services, said: "The Age Friendly Action Plan is an important piece of work which reflects a range of services which both the council and our PSB partners deliver such as transport, housing, and healthcare.
"This is an opportunity for everyone to have their say on which actions should be prioritised and how we can ensure that we are best serving the needs of our older residents."
Paper copies of the survey are available at community venues across the Vale. It can be accessed online on the Vale Public Service Board website.
There are community feedback sessions scheduled for Rhoose Community Library (July 23, 10am to 12pm), Cowbridge Library (July 24, 2pm to 4pm), Penarth's Belle Vue Community Cafe (July 25, 12.30pm to 2.30pm) and Dinas Powys Community Library (July 30, 10.30am to 12.30pm).
