A MAN has been sent to prison for harassment.
On June 21, Andrew Howells, 45, breached a restraining order placed on him by contacting a woman via email.
Howells, of Bassett Street, Barry, was placed under the restraining order by Cardiff Magistrates Court on May 3, 2023.
At Cardiff Magistrates on June 24, Howells pleaded guilty to the charge and was sent to prison for 18 weeks – he’ll serve 12 weeks in custody.

The sentence ran consecutive to a previous charge on the same victim.
Between 4 and 15 March, at Barry, Howells emailed his victim, which he was prohibited from doing under a restraining order.
For that crime, Howells was up in court on March 25 where he received a six-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months.
Howells is not to contact his victim by any means whatsoever.
His restraining order now expires on June 29, 2029.
