A MAN was caught weighing cocaine, with cash scattered around when officers unexpectedly made a knock at his door.
When officers attended Adam Jones’ property in Fitzhamon Avenue, Llantwit Major, in October last year, they found Jones on the sofa weighing white powder on digital scales with cash scattered around.
The officers were in fact there on a separate investigation.
The powder was confirmed as cocaine and the scales had residues of cocaine and ketamine.
Jones from the town, avoided jail time after admitting possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Jones, 36, pleaded guilty and was sentenced on Friday, June 7 at Newport Crown Court to a two-year prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.
A South Wales Police spokesperson thanked members of the public for their help in the investigation.
“We have a zero-tolerance approach to drug dealing,” said the spokesperson.
“We can, and regularly do, act upon the information provided to us by the public, so please keep it coming and continue to work with us.”
