FIVE people from the Vale have been honoured in the King’s Birthday Honours list 2024 including one person from Barry and one person from Penarth.
From Barry, Karen Anne O’Donoghue-Harris, chair of Rhoose Lifeguards has been honoured for services to Maritime Safety.
From Penarth, Professor Elizabeth Tulip Treasure, lately vice-chancellor at Aberystwyth University was honoured for services to higher education and to the community in Aberystwyth and Ceredigion.
Cowbridge had three people on the Birthday Honours list.
Professor Rhian Mair Fenn (Rhian Goodfellow), professor of medical education and honorary consultant rheumatologist at Cardiff University, was honoured for services to medical education.
Pauline Alison Watson Burt, lately CEO of development agency for Welsh film Ffilm Cymru Wales, was honoured for services to film
Mark Adrian Jones, CEO of Gower College Swansea was honoured for services to education.
