A former Royal Marine Commando is looking for people from the Vale to highlight their work.

Invictus Games gold medalist and former Strictly star, JJ Chalmers, has launched a hunt for 30 inspirational individuals as part of the National Lottery's 30th birthday celebrations.

His goal is to shine a light on those who have used lottery funding to make a significant impact in their community, including the Vale of Glamorgan.

Mr Chalmers said: "During my own recovery journey and involvement with the Invictus Games, I have encountered countless unsung heroes who work tirelessly to improve the lives of people around them.

"If you know somebody who has done something amazing with National Lottery funding over the last 30 years, then please take the time to nominate them as a National Lottery Game Changer."

Since 1994, the National Lottery has raised more than £678.5 million for causes in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Jonathan Tuchner, from the National Lottery, added: "As part of our 30th Birthday celebrations we want to honour those who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in their communities with the help of National Lottery funding."
