Children in St Athan are being encouraged to read as part of a new development.
Housebuilder, Barratt Developments South Wales, has unveiled a 'little library' at its Parc Fferm Wen site, filled with books donated by the community and Barratt staff.
A place where young people can swap books, Olivia White, a year six pupil, officially opened it. She was one of 30 pupils at the site.
Olivia said: "Some children think reading is boring - but we disagree!
"My favourite author is Kaylynn Bayron, so I'm hoping to see some of their books in the library."
Patricia Broomfield, acting deputy headteacher at St Athan Primary School, said the library was an "amazing local resource" and hoped it would create "future bookworms in our community."
Barratt has supported children’s literacy since 2022 by working with UK reading charity, Bookmark, and donating more than £100,000 to aid the charity’s work to give children reading skills and confidence.
