Cardiff Bus has given £8,000 to the MND Association.

The firm's staff raised the sum through a year of fundraising activities.

Chosen by employees, the MND Association was the beneficiary of various efforts including dress-down days, raffles, and a sponsored walk, all of which combined to total an impressive £8,037.

Jen Doody, human resources director at Cardiff Bus, said: "Tallying up this year’s donations and looking back at the efforts our team has put in over the last 12 months to raise vital funds for such a worthy charity is indeed a proud moment for Cardiff Bus.

"We're extremely proud of the fundraising efforts of our team and hope this donation will bring a cure that much closer."

Kate Byron, a volunteer at the MND Association, said: "This will make a huge difference to people living with Motor Neurone Disease in the Cardiff and Vale area.

"Thank you!"

The MND Association works to facilitate access to care, promote research, and campaign for those affected by motor neurone disease.

The funds will be used for training association visitors to provide support to those suffering from the disorder.

It will also contribute to promoting and financing research for new treatments and hopefully a cure for MND.
