A MAN was arrested for possession with intent to supply drugs, and over £2,000 cash was seized in Barry.

Operation Winsford kicked off earlier this month in the town and police were out and about bossing the streets and smashing crime.

Along with the arrest and cash seized, three uninsured cars, suspected of being used for crime, were taken off the road.

A spokesperson from South Wales Police explained more about Operation Winsford.

"Tackling drug dealing, and associated crime and disorder is the aim of a new force-wide operation.

"Officers from a range of departments, including Roads Policing Unit and the Dog Section, are working with local Neighbourhood Teams to target areas where concerns have been raised by the community.

"Barry was the first area to get some focus from Operation Winsford earlier this month which resulted in several positive results including one man arrested for possession with intent to supply drugs, £2,500 seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act, and three uninsured cars, suspected of being used for crime, being seized.
