Hundreds of pupils and staff at a primary school in Barry were invited to watch the Cardiff Devils on Sunday, March 17.
Pupils, staff, and their families at All Saints Primary School were invited by players at the Cardiff Devils to watch the match against Glasgow Clan.
Aled Williams, head teacher at All Saints Primary told the Barry and District News that players are keen for schools to visit for the game experience.
He said: “We kindly had a visit from Cardiff Devils players who are keen to get schools to visit and attend matches.
“Before the game, they came to the school assembly as part of their community engagement and did a Q and A with the children and handed out signed programmes.
“We had discounted tickets which were spread over three blocks which were made up of over 150 children, staff and family members from the school.”
The Cardiff Devils went ahead 49 seconds into the second period with Brandon Alderson scoring a fantastic goal into the Clan’s net.
The Clan started period three on the front foot but could not take advantage of two early powerplays as they sought an equaliser.
The Devils scored their second goal after Ryan Barrow picked up a loose puck to find the net and the game ended with a 2-0 victory.
He added: “The atmosphere was fantastic, and everyone was buzzing with another home win in front of the sold-out crowd which was family friendly.
“The whole school was excited to attend the game and for most, it was their first time. We had great feedback from parents who are keen to go back to watch another match.
“The All Saints Pupils, families and staff had an amazing experience, and we would like to thank Mr Francis, the Devil's assistant manager, and the Cardiff Devils for giving everyone this amazing opportunity.
"We can’t wait to come back and watch another game soon.”
The Cardiff Devils have two home games coming up at the Vindico Arena, against Nottingham Panthers today (Sunday, March 24) and the Belfast Giants on Wednesday, March 27.
