A BARRY marketing expert, who shares ten minute marketing tips for small business owners, is celebrating the release of her first book.

Hannah Isted, 31, has helped small businesses with their marketing since 2015 when she started HI Communications.

Last year she was selected to publish her book after winning a book deal with Practical Inspiration Publishing.

Hannah was entered into the competition after completing their 10-Day Book Proposal Challenge.

Day to day Hannah runs an online community on Facebook called The Best 90 Days Ever, which offers daily prompts to business owners who want to improve their marketing.

Hannah, who lives in Barry with her husband, Tom and their two chocolate labradors Bernie and Lacey, turned the premise of her online community into a business book.

Hannah, who has over 3,500 followers on her instagram @hicommunications_ said: "I’ve always dreamed of writing a book and in April 2023 I took part in a course that supported me through completing a proposal.

"It was only during that course that I realised I had a concept for a book that could really help small business owners.

"During the ten days of the course I mapped out how I could share my marketing tips from The Best 90 Days Ever and turn them into a guide that shares 90 powerful actions to transform a business."

Hannah had to choose her favourites from over 300 prompts in her Facebook group and adapt them to work in a book.

She said: "I put so much time and effort into thinking about the way that my audience would be reading the prompts and how they'd make it actionable."

Her efforts paid off when she was selected to write her book in full for publication. 

She said: "There's a video of the moment that the course leader announced I had won and you can see how shocked I am.

"I was gobsmacked. I set up my phone to record it just in case but honestly I did not think I was going to win at all. There were some amazing proposals in the group.

"I immediately burst into tears. I was so excited and proud and couldn’t believe I was going to be an author."

Hannah is preparing for a March 26 release date and planning a launch party at Tramshed Tech, Barry on March 27.
