A MAJOR street in the Vale is about to have work done to it.
Penarth's Plassey Street runs from Albert Road all the way to the roundabout on Windsor Road down to Cogan.
It's set to be closed through the day from March 11 to March 15 due to resurfacing work.
There are businesses on the street which could be affected by the closure - including the renowned Plassey's fish bar.
Last year another major artery into and out of Penarth, Windsor Road, from the roundabout up towards the crossing with Hickman Road and Arcot Street, was resurfaced.
Exact location of Plassey Street road closure
The location of the road closure will be situated from where the junction of Windsor Road, Penarth meets Plassey Street, Penarth.
From this point the closure will continue onto Plassey Street in a southeasterly direction spanning approx. 0.71km ending where Plassey Street, Penarth meets Albert Road, Penarth.

Road Closure approval is subject to the following;
- 11/03/2024 to 11/03/2024 – 09:30am to 15:00pm;
- 12/03/2024 to 12/03/2024 – 09:30am to 15:00pm;
- 13/03/2024 to 13/03/2024 – 09:30am to 15:00pm;
- 14/03/2024 to 14/03/2024 – 09:30am to 15:00pm;
- 15/03/2024 to 15/03/2024 – 09:30am to 15:00pm.
(Closure lifted over the weekend 16/03/2024 to 17/03/2024)
- 18/03/2024 to 18/03/2024 – 09:30am to 15:00pm;
- 19/03/2024 to 19/03/2024 – 09:30am to 15:00pm.
Access to be maintained to residents and businesses at all times
- No weekend working;
- All bus stops along route to be suspended for the duration of works.
