THE FESTIVE season will impact bin and recycling collections in the Vale of Glamorgan.
In the week commencing from Christmas Day (Monday, December 25) the collection day for Vale of Glamorgan residents will be two days later than normal – those who’d normally have a collection on Monday will instead have one on Wednesday and so on.
The week commencing from New Year's Day (January 1, 2024) will also be affected – waste collection in the Vale of Glamorgan will be a day later than usual; Monday collection will be on Tuesday and so on.
Residents will be able to put up to six black bags for collection on their scheduled day between December 25 and January 8 – people are asked to put used wrapping paper in their black bag. The normal limit of three bags per household will resume from Monday, January 15, 2024.
Vale of Glamorgan Council will collect real Christmas trees from designated collection points from January 8 to January 20, 2024. Locations and dates of the Christmas tree collection points are to be confirmed.
