A MAN was taken to hospital with minor injuries following a crash on the A4050 in Barry yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a report of a road traffic collision on Park Crescent, which resulted in the road being closed for two hours.
The incident attended by officers from South Wales Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service and Wales Air Ambulance led to significant delays on the surrounding roads.
South Wales Police confirmed that the man’s injuries were non-life threatening following the police incident with enquiries ongoing.
A spokesperson for the police said: “Police attended the scene of a road traffic collision in Park Crescent, Barry, at around 2.20pm yesterday (Tuesday, November 28).
“One man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The road reopened around 4pm and enquiries are ongoing.”
The man was taken to the University Hospital of Wales for further treatment.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called today, November 28, at approximately 2.15pm, to reports of a road traffic collision on the A4050 near Lewis Street.
“We sent an emergency ambulance to the scene where advanced critical care support was delivered by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service in a Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopter.
“We conveyed one patient to the University Hospital Of Wales, Cardiff for further treatment."
