Crews from Barry Dock were called to reports of a broken-down 40-foot yacht near Barry Harbour on Friday night.
Volunteer crews were called out on Friday, November 10 to reports of a becalmed boat with engine trouble approximately one mile South of Barry Harbour.
The boat had no engine and was drifting with the outgoing tide within the boarding area for pilots of shipping in the Bristol Channel.
The yacht was intending to use Barry Harbour as a haven before continuing their journey.
A spokesperson for RNLI Barry Dock: “With no wind and engine, the yacht was drifting with the outgoing tide within the boarding area for pilots of shipping in the Bristol Channel.
“A tow was established, and the yacht safely brought to Barry Harbour, after washing down, refuelling and restocking, our all-weather lifeboat was made ready for service again, with the crew returning to their supper.”
