BARRY Island will host its very own winter wonderland - complete with ice skating rink - again this year.

Barry Island Pleasure Park owner Henry Danter brought the rink to the attraction last year - and now it's back for a second year.

Mr Danter said: “We had to move six rides around and it is bigger this year, the ice rink was delivered this morning.

“The marquee is coming from China, and being built with electric shutters and everything which has been delayed a few days.”

He added: “Last year was a great success, that is why we are putting a bigger and better one in this year and going full out.”

The winter wonderland - provisionally planned to open on Saturday, October 28 - will also include dodgem ice carts, singers, and other attractions.

Mr Danter added: “New site, going to be a great event, a lot more going on this year, and it was because of their request and demand we have brought it back.

“We are going to make a big thing of it, all the things I have dreamt about are going to turn into reality.”
