A Wilko store in Barry is due to close next week after staff were left in the dark for a month after stores across the country began to close.
The store on Holton Road will officially close on Monday, September 25 after a month of uncertainty about the retailer's future.
The high street chain entered administration last month and started its closure process last week.
The store in Barry will be the last to close in the area as three Cardiff stores are already shut.
Earlier this month it was announced that all stores in Cardiff will close, but the store in Barry was safe from closure.
Administrators said on Tuesday, that 111 more stores will serve customers for a final next week, with 36 stores to close alongside the Holton Road store.
The Argus paid a visit to the store in Barry on Friday, September 15 and was told by staff that they were not given a closing date.
Now it has been revealed that the store will finally close this month with 23 people set to lose their jobs.
The closure of the Barry store comes after stores in Abergavenny, Blackwood, Cwmbran, Chepstow, Pontypool, and Newport closed their doors last week.
Wilko stores in Chepstow and Pontypool will re-open as Poundland after the budget retailer saved 71 stores across the UK.
The Wilko store in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire will remain the only store open in Wales, when the store in Barry closes.
The store located at Unit 3 A on Carregaman Road will close two days after the store in Barry, on Wednesday, September 26.
