AN AWARD-WINNING Barry takeaway may be celebrating soon – after being shortlisted for another accolade.
Tiffin Rasoi is an Indian takeaway, based on Holton Road in Barry, which opened 14 years ago in March 2009.
The venue, which also offers a vegan menu, has a 4.5 rating on Facebook reviews, a four rating on Google reviews, and a 3.5 rating on TripAdvisor.
Tiffin Rasoi Barry has been making waves in the food industry, with recent achievements including:
- Being Restaurant Guru recommended in 2023 and 2022;
- Winning ‘takeway of the year’ in Asian Curry Awards 2022;
- Being shortlisted for a Good Food Award 2022;
- Being shortlisted for ‘takeaway of the year’ in British Curry Awards 2022.
The Barry-based takeaway also won ‘takeaway of the year’ in the 2022 Food Awards Wales (organised by Creative Oceanic) and has been shortlisted for this category for the second year running, following nominations from the public.
“I am very proud that we are once again a finalist for this prestigious award,” said business owner Motiur Rahman.
“We won in this category last year [2022] and are hoping to defend our title and win it again this year [2023].
“A massive thanks to all my customers for all their support and to the Tiffin Rasoi team –without their hard work and dedication this wouldn’t be possible.”
The winners of the Food Awards Wales – not to be confused with Welsh Government’s Wales Food and Drink Awards - will be announced at a ceremony held at Mercure Cardiff Holland House on June 26.
A spokesman for The Food Awards Wales said: “In a country with so many food establishments and businesses, it can be hard to stand out.
“The 2023 finalists have all been distinguished as the real masters in their field due to their hard work and dedication to customer satisfaction.”
Tiffin Rasoi Barry is also encouraging people to vote for the establishment in the ARTA (Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards) 2023 by entering those who nominate them into a prize draw for a trip to Dubai.
