A POPULAR Barry takeaway has earned its first award of 2023 - less than a week into the new year.
Royal Balti Barry, on Vere Street in Cadoxton, is a 2023 Good Food Award winner (also known as the Blue Ribbon for Delicious Dishes) with the business - which offers food for delivery or collection - also winning numerous accolades throughout 2022.
The Good Food Awards were founded in 2002 and are free to enter – with more than 599,000 food venues across the UK entering for 2023. The winners are selected based on food quality, service, and value with a focus on customer rating and votes.
Muhammad Ahmed and Niaz Haidari, who co-own the business, said: "Our takeaway has built up a good reputation over the years, because we provide excellent service and maintain our quality.
“Even though we are going through the toughest times and paying high costs for everything we still haven't dropped in quality – we have continued to offer quality food to our customers and taking less profit.
“Thank you to our customers who are continually supporting us.
"We are always seeking new ideas and trying to improve to ensure our business keeps its valuable reputation and loyal customer base.”
The popular takeaway is no stranger to awards, celebrating many successes over the years. 2022 was no exception with the business:
- Winning Indian takeaway of the year 2022 at the Welsh Asian Food Awards (full story here);
- Winning best curry takeaway 2022 at the Curry Life Awards after reaching the finals;
- Winning a Good Food Award 2022.
