A NEW brasserie owned by a former soldier that will host mental health meetings for army veterans has opened its doors in Barry.
Old Streets Lounge in Broad Street opened on Wednesday, October 19.
Owner and former soldier Daniel Pritchard said he hoped the venue will become a place for people to meet and talk.

Mr Pritchard, who also owns Black Lion Roofing said: “We wanted to open a place for people to meet and talk.
“After the death of one of our employees at Black Lion we realised that our guys were just going to work, coming home and not really having a chance to talk with one another in a relaxed environment.
“We are at the moment connecting with men’s mental health charities and trying to incorporate that as one of the foundations of the business, being an ex-soldier we are going to host veterans mental health meetings.”

The venue is open Monday to Friday from 6am until 3pm and is preparing to open in the evenings on Wednesday and Friday.
Mr Pritchard said: “Old Streets' day menu offers good comfort food such as paninis, sandwiches, a selection of vegan and vegetarian cakes.

“A gluten free menu will be available and there will be of course different types of breakfast.
“The evening menu will be steak and comfort food orientated, think great quality pub food.”
