A BARRY man has been recognised for his work supporting young carers.
Jim Price has worked with young people throughout his life including leading the Cardiff and Vale Young Carers Club since 2006.
Through this club, Mr Price helps young carers have a break, meet new friends and have fun. When the covid pandemic began, the club – along with many others – had to close and recognising that the carers would need the support more than ever, he kept in contact with the members through text and social media and encouraged the group to keep in contact with each other.

The Rotary Club of Cardiff East nominated Mr Price for the Community Champion award in the annual Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland’s Champions Awards. The awards were presented to the winners at Volunteer Expo Live at Birmingham’s NEC on May 6 and 7.
