A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.
CORY POUNTEY, 31, of Holton Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £436.90 in a fine, costs, compensation and a surcharge after it was proved in his absence that he attempted to travel on a railway with Transport for Wales between Barry Docks and Cardiff Central without having previously paid his fare of £3.90 and with intent to avoid payment thereof on October 7, 2021.
GRAEME MACKAY, 35, of Cardiff Road, Barry, was banned from driving for 12 months for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
He was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

DANIEL JOHN MICHAEL RICHARDS, 20, of Ridgeway Road, Rumney, Cardiff, was ordered to pay £284.90 in a fine, costs, compensation and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to attempting to travel on a railway with Transport for Wales between Barry Docks and Grangetown without having previously paid his fare of £3.90 and with intent to avoid payment thereof on October 26, 2021.
DANIEL BLUMBERG, 37, of Glyndwr Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

RICHARD JOHN GEORGE, 34, of Clos Mancheldowne, Barry, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

STUART GERMON, 59, of Florence Avenue, Barry, was ordered to pay £114 in a fine and a surcharge after he admitted driving without insurance on the A470 in Cardiff on January 23.

WAISEA SUKA VAKACEGU, 39, of Magpie Road, St Athan, was ordered to pay £770 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on the M4 at Junction 32, Coryton, Cardiff, on January 3.

ANTHONY DAVID FROST, 44, of Cei Dafydd, Barry, was ordered to pay £344 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without a licence on Barry Road on January 29.

CHRISTOPHER JOHN GEORGE, 35, of Heol Peartree, Rhoose, was ordered to pay £435 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on the A4061, Litchard, Bridgend, on February 18.
