Royal Balti
The Royal Balti on Vere Street in Cadoxton came out on top with our readers for takeaways in Barry. Claire Jenkins said: “Delicious food which is always delivered hot and fresh.”
Robert John said: “Best Indian food is easily The Mint Room, never tasted anything like it in my life.” Brian Elliott echoed this and praised the delivery drivers. Steve Brown praised the menu saying they are always adding new dishes and provide ‘great quality and quantity of food.’

Yang Tze
Yang Tze on Barry Road is thought to be the oldest Chinese takeaway in the town and is popular with our readers.
Jayne Barratt said: “Probably the best Chinese I’ve ever tasted.” Carys Lane added: “The curry sauce is the best! Pancake rolls are crispy and delicious. My favourite is the chicken and broccoli in oyster sauce.”
Sam Rose says this is truly a favourite – having been a customer for more than 40 years and Craig Baker said he travels across Barry to get a takeout from there.
Mint Room
Another popular is Indian restaurant and takeaway Mint Room on Main Street. The takeaway menu is packed full of traditional and signature Indian dishes.
Jason Miller says people are ‘missing out’ if they haven’t eaten at Mint Rooms.

Mayflower came in among the top from our readers. The Chinese on Burlington Street has a wide range of Chinese dishes on offer.

Flaming Frangos
Another of Vere Street’s takeaways that is popular with our readers is Flaming Frangos. A wide range of dishes including pizzas, burgers and kebabs are on offer.
Becky Wyatt said: “The best pizzas and chicken tikka kebab that comes in a naan bread is just lush.”
Azimul Shikdar said: “Extremely fast and friendly service with banging food never lets you down! Always something new to try! Got my mouth watering typing this ahaha! They do a massive variety from kebabs to fresh grilled chicken (better than Nandos) to dessert. Friendly staff and amazing food highly recommended. Try it and you won’t regret it! Island Grill
Broad Street’s Island Grill was another popular choice. They have pizza, kebabs, burgers and wraps on offer as well as desserts.
Stacey Leanne said: “So much choice to suit everyone. Always fresh and delicious.” Paula Cox added that the food is “amazingly delicious.”
