MEMORIALS at a Barry cemetery are being inspected to ensure their safety.
Barry Town Council are undertaking the inspection of memorials at Merthyr Dyfan Cemetery, on Cemetery Road, and through October will be completing on sections DD and FF before moving onto section RC.
Any memorials found to be unsafe will have the necessary measures taken to ensure they are immediately made safe while every attempt is being made to contact the deed holder or next of kin.

A spokeswoman for the council said: "If - while attending the cemetery - you notice that your family memorial has been banded and a notice placed on it or if you have safety concerns with regards to any memorial, call Barry Town Council on 01446 704924.
“Please be aware that advertisements will follow of any grave spaces that we are unable to locate family members for.
“Thank you for your cooperation.”
