A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.
JESSICA LOPEZ, 22, of Chesterfield Street, Barry, was ordered to pay £2,026 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for breaching coronavirus regulations by participating in a gathering in private at Clos Tyniad Glo on January 9.
She was also banned from driving for six months after it was proven in her absence that she failed to stop after an accident at Morrisons car park, was driving without a licence and driving without insurance on September 4, 2020.
She was ordered to pay £811 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
JOS ANDREW THOMAS SHIELDS, of Chesterfield Street, Barry, was ordered to pay £2,026 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for breaching coronavirus regulations by participating in a gathering in private at Clos Tyniad Glo on January 9.
GRACE EMILY MORT, 20, of Nant Talwg Way, Barry, was ordered to pay £2,026 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for breaching coronavirus regulations by participating in a gathering in private at Vachell Road, Ely, Cardiff, on New Year’s Day.
CYAN MCHARDY, 18, of Moulton, Vale of Glamorgan, was ordered to pay £2,026 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for breaching coronavirus regulations by participating in a gathering in private at Lower Morel Street, Barry, on January 18.
JAMES KING, 25, of Richmond Road, Roath, Cardiff, was ordered to pay £2,026 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for breaching coronavirus regulations by participating in a gathering in private at Lower Morel Street, Barry, on January 18.
EMMA EVANS, 39, of Pyke Street, Barry, was ordered to pay £2,026 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for breaching coronavirus regulations by participating in a gathering in private on January 9.
PAIGE LAUREN CALLAGHAN, 26, of Kendrick Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £444 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for breaching coronavirus regulations by participating in a gathering in private at Clos Tyniad Glo on January 9.
EDWARD JAMES HOWARD, 35, of Mayflower Way, Rhoose, was jailed for 12 weeks after he pleaded guilty to assault by beating and criminal damage on July 11.
He was ordered to pay £393 in compensation, costs and a surcharge.
JOHN DAVID QUILL, 49, of Heol Gwendoline, Barry, was banned from driving for 18 months after he admitted drink driving with 76mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath on Port Road East on July 4.
He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
PETER HUNT, 31, of Maes Yr Ysgol, Barry, was conditionally discharged for six months after he admitted causing criminal damage to a Ford Fiesta car on April 17.
He was ordered to pay £107 in costs and a surcharge.
OWAIN JAMES, 48, of Glebeland Place, St Athan, was ordered to pay £470 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he admitted driving without due care and attention on Rectory Road on March 10.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
NATHAN JAMES BROWN, 47, of Daniel Street, Cadoxton, Barry, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after he pleaded guilty to the theft of a Sony mobile phone on April 27.
He must complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £400 in costs, compensation and a fine.
