A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.
NIALL GRIFFITHS, 26, of North Walk, Barry, was ordered to pay £784 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he was found guilty after a trial of driving without due care and attention on Palmerston Road.
His driving record was endorsed with five points.
CYAN LEIGH MCHARDY, 18, of Port Road, Rhoose, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after she admitted assault by beating.
She must complete a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement and was ordered to pay £100 in compensation and a fine.
STEPHEN MARTIN COOMBES, 31, of Port Road East, Barry, was banned from driving for six months after he failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle.
He was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
MERVYN MATTHEWS, 61, of Barry Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £244 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 52mph in a 30mph zone on the B4265 in Wick.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
ROBERT CLOUGH, 25, of Pontypridd Street, Barry, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance.
His driving record was endorsed with eight points.
JAMES WINTER, 49, of Glyndwr Avenue, St Athan, was ordered to pay £574 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 43mph in a 30mph zone.
His driving record was endorsed with four points.
SIMON PURCIGO, 36, of Guthrie Street, Barry, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
DAVID EDWARD DIFFORD, 70, of Vale Street, Barry, was ordered to pay £344 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 50mph in a 40mph zone.
His driving record was endorsed with three points.
SIMON HICKEY, 46, of Holton Road, Barry, was fined £50 for failing to comply with the requirements of a community order.
