A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

MICHAEL OMER, 32, of Port Road, Rhoose, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after he admitted assault by beating in Barry.

He must carry out 60 hours of unpaid work, complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £180 in costs and a surcharge.

SAMUEL CAMILLERI, 43, of Aberaeron Close, Barry, was ordered to pay £439.50 in compensation, fine and costs after he pleaded guilty to the theft of £40 of meat from Sainsbury’s in Penarth and cosmetics valued at £194.54 from Superdrug in Barry.

JULIE O'BRIEN, 55, of Clive Road, Barry, was banned from driving for six months and fined £100 for speeding at 47mph in a 30mph zone on Newport Road, Rumney Hill, Cardiff.

JAMES ROBERT BURNISTON, aged 30, of Merthyr Street, Barry, was banned from driving for six months for failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver.

He was fined £660.

JORDAN JENKINS, 22, of Woodlands Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 55mph in a 30mph zone on Jenner Road.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

RHYS LOVELESS, 30, of Trinity Street, Barry, was ordered to pay a £100 fine, costs for speeding at 42mph in a 30mph zone in St Nicholas.

His driving record was endorsed with four points.

RHYS ANTHONY TURNBULL, 28, of Treharne Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

CALUM LAWRENCE, 32, of Trinity Street, Barry, was ordered to pay £100 in costs and a fine after he admitted that he failed to comply with the requirements of a community order.

JOSHUA JAMES WHITE, 31, of Westbury Close, Barry, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance.

His driving record was endorsed with eight points.
