A TWO week festival for Fairtrade is back - and it's gone virtual.
Fairtrade Fortnight is an an annual international event - this year running from February 22 until March 7 - which celebrates the farmers and workers who grow our produce and promotes a living wage and fair trade.
Tonight, at 7.30pm, there will be a free online wine tasting, hosted by Co-op Fairtrade wine buyer, Ed Robinson, joined by Jules Von Hep and Sarah Powell.
Guests are welcome to buy their own Fairtrade wine and nibbles to enjoy as part of the 18+ event - people can register their interest here.
There will also be a Fairtrade bake-along, shared by The Fairtrade Foundation and Waitrose, at 6.30pm on Thursday February 25
Join award-winning patisserie chef and chocolatier Will Torrent for a step-by-step guide on cooking Fairtrade espresso mocha brownies. Plus, hear from Fairtrade cocoa farmer, Leocadie.
More details about the bake-along are available here.
As previously reported a Vale-wide competition for youngsters to 'choose the world you want' is also being hosted, with prizes on offer.
The festivities also include a virtual Fairtade quiz - which will raise money for the Fairtrade Foundation - kicking off at 7.30pm on Friday March 5
Quizmaster Laura, from Eventures, will ask a range of question about different themes, and the evening will feature a special guest appearance from Fairtrade Foundation Patron Nick Hewer.
People wanting to take part in the quiz can register their interest here.
The two weeks of celebrations are jam-packed with other Fairtrade events, including guest talks, cook-alongs, discussions, webinars, workshops and more.
