A HOUSE party on Barry Waterfront and car sharing friends in Sully were among 134 fixed penalty notices (FPNs) handed out by South Wales Police on the weekend.
The force were called to 552 covid-related incidents between Friday and Monday and the majority were found to not be in breach of the guidelines.
However seven fixed penalty notices were given to people attending a house party on Barry Waterfront. Four people who were found car sharing in Sully but were from different addresses were also penalised.
Across the South Wales Police force area, 13 FPNs were issued to people at a party in the Maritime Quarter of Swansea while another four were given to people attending a birthday party in the city – two of which had travelled from London. Six were given at a party at a flat on the Riverside in Cardiff, six more to people at a party in Cathays, Cardiff, 15 for a flat party in Splott.

Eight were given FPNs at a house party in Grangetown in Cardiff, six more with given them at a house party in Treherbert while another six were given for a house party in Merthyr Tydfil. Seven more were given to people at a house party in Trowbridge – one of those was also arrested and has been charged with breaching a restraining order and assaulting an emergency worker.
Three people were given FPNs at a vehicle check for a van as they were from different households but had gathered to celebrate a birthday. Six were given to men gathering to drink alcohol in Canton, five people from different addresses were given notices after they gathered in a car park in Aberaman.
A number of people were also fined for travelling without a reasonable excuse.
