A TEENAGER is in a serious condition in hospital after a crash in Barry.
South Wales Police are investigating a serious collision, which occurred at approximately 4am this morning on the A4050, Port Road East, Barry.
The incident occurred near to Pencoedtre High School and the traffic light junction with Pencoedtre Road.
It is believed that a 16-year-old boy has been in a collision with a motor vehicle which has failed to stop at the scene, leaving the boy critically injured in the road.
Emergency services attended at the scene and he was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious, but stable condition.
It is believed the vehicle involved has travelled eastbound along the A4050 following the collision.
The road currently remains closed whilst the police carry out investigations. Officers have issued their thanks to members of the public for their patience during the road closures.
South Wales Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time that may have witnessed the incident, the movements of the victim, or any vehicles in the area at the time.
They are also appealing for any CCTV or dash cam footage from the area.
