AS the Covid-19 pandemic continues into the winter months and ice rinks remain closed across the country, Taylor Wimpey South Wales has lent its support to a talented young ice skater from Sully, covering the costs for new off-ice skates.
Mollie Mai, 14, has been ice skating for more than five years, competing all over the UK and last year she ranked 10th in the UK for her age group at the British Championships in dance ice skating.
With no signs of ice rinks across Wales reopening, the off-ice skates will enable Mollie to continue her vital practice session outdoors, in preparation for future competitions.

Earlier this year, the housebuilder also donated towards the cost of new skates, a competition dress, competition fees and coaching.
Sara Taylor, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey South Wales, approached Mollie’s mother, Helen, in 2017 after she came across her plea for help on social media.
Helen, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive yet another generous donation from Taylor Wimpey.
"The pandemic has had a huge impact on Mollie’s training, as she hasn’t been able to skate at all in Wales since March.
"The off-ice skates have just arrived and Mollie couldn't be happier!
"It’s amazing that she can now continue to progress in a sport she is so passionate about.”
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey from both Mollie and myself for their continued support.”
Sara Taylor, said: “We understand how difficult the pandemic has been for young athletes like Mollie and how it has affected their ability to train.
"We are delighted to help Mollie continue to prepare for upcoming contests and we’re sure she has an incredibly bright future ahead.”
The donation to Mollie Mai is one of many ways in which Taylor Wimpey is supporting the local communities in which it builds. To find out more visit www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/media-centre/news.
