A MAN was warned he is facing a prison sentence after he admitted controlling or coercive behaviour against a former girlfriend.
Anthony Richardson, 32, from Barry, pleaded guilty to the charge before a judge at Newport Crown Court.
Prosecutor Thomas Stanway said the offence included the defendant slapping her and leaving her with a bloodshot eye.
The controlling or coercive behaviour against her took place between October 1, 2019 and November 15, 2019.

Rhodri Chudleigh, representing Richardson, of no fixed abode, asked for a pre-sentence report to be prepared on his client.
Judge Richard Twomlow told the defendant: “I am going to order a pre-sentence report so that the court knows more about you.
“The fact that I am adjourning the case is no indication as to the sentence you will receive.
“All sentencing options are open.”
Richardson was released on conditional bail to return to court for sentencing on November 6.
