A HUSBAND who assaulted his blind wife in a “vile and unprovoked” attack is behind bars.
Huw Roberts Rowles, 43, of Port Road, Rhoose, was jailed after pleading guilty to assault by beating.
Cardiff Magistrates’ Court heard the defendant had displayed “controlling and vile behaviour in the unprovoked attack”.

By committing this offence on September 27, Rowles was in breach of a suspended prison sentence for a common assault on the same victim.
He was jailed for a total of 18 weeks.
The defendant was also ordered to pay £213 in costs and a surcharge upon his release from custody.
