THESE six criminals were recently handed jail sentences for a range of offences, from murder to child sex offences and escaping from prison to theft.
We look at their crimes and punishment.
Christopher Walsh
Serial sex offender Christopher Walsh, 41, was locked up when he was caught by paedophile hunters after he thought he was grooming girls online.
The defendant, of Evans Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
Walsh was jailed for two years and three months at Newport Crown Court.

Kelly Bailey
Kelly Bailey stole her mother’s life savings to pay off a large drug debt.
The 39-year-old, of Laugharne Court, Barry, crept into her mum Tina Bailey’s bedroom to take the £3,370 in cash as she slept.
Judge David Wynn Morgan told Bailey: “You know perfectly well that you have committed a very wicked offence.”
At Cardiff Crown Court, she was jailed for two years.

Stephen Price
A paedophile nearly destroyed the life of a completely innocent man after he used his picture and profile to groom a 14-year-old schoolgirl.
Stephen Price, 53, of Barry Road, Barry, had posed as a “younger and more attractive man” on an adult dating site.
He was jailed for three years and told he will have to register as a sex offender for life.

Iestyn Raven
A prisoner went on the run after arguing with his girlfriend about cheating and because he wanted to see his father who was infected with coronavirus.
Iestyn Raven, 20, from Rhoose, who is serving seven years for a brutal stabbing, escaped from Prescoed open prison and young offender institution, near Usk, with another fugitive.
He was jailed for an extra four months.

Michael Hobbs
Disqualified driver Michael Hobbs rammed a police car in a doomed escape bid after a high-speed chase.
The 35-year-old, of Llewellyn Street, Barry, was driving a stolen Ford Transit van when he reversed into the officer.
The defendant had raced at more than 60mph in 30mph zones throughout the town before he was cornered.
He was jailed for two years.

Jordan Brown
Murderer Jordan Brown stabbed a “loving son, brother and father” to death with a flick knife in front of horrified shoppers.
Jordan Brown was jailed for life and will have to serve a minimum of 24 years behind bars for killing Jordan Davies in Barry town centre a few days before Christmas.
The 25-year-old defendant, of Holton Road, Barry, was found guilty by a jury at Cardiff Crown Court of murdering his victim on Monday, December 16, 2019.
