Bill was my first aider when I attended Barry Comprehensive School for 2010 - 2015 and its safe to say that Bill was honestly the most amazing character and always looked after me and my diabetes. He actually was my Father's P.E teacher also bare in mind my Dad is 33 years old that I am so it's amazing to see how dedicated he was to his job. You will be missed by many

As a friend and colleague of Bill at Barry Comprehensive that was, I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing – particularly as I had seen him quite recently at a school meet up before Easter. I asked him: “Sut mae?” and his response was “Da iawn diolch”. This shows that we never know what is round the corner. Bill was an immense character in the school and much liked. I remember being taught resuscitation by him and a whole group of students and singing “Nelly the Elephant” at the same time to get the timing right. His sense of humour had you in stitches and it was often unintentional. He was multi-talented and a true “legend” of Barry as I sure anyone would agree. May you rest in peace and never be forgotten.

All his old friends and colleagues who worked with him at Barry Comprehensive School have been shocked and saddened by the news of Bill's passing. I have so many fond memories of Bill over the decades that I worked with him. He was kind. He was a great gymnast. He gave great service to education in the town. His skill as an instructor meant generations of people learnt valuable life-saving skills through his voluntary work with St John's Ambulance. He made a great contribution to his community and I haven't even mentioned his great character... Bill, old friend, you'll be much missed by us all. May you rest in peace.
