A RECESSION-BUSTING store will create around 30 jobs, ahead of its opening in the former Barry Woolworth’s store on Holton Road next month.
UK chain '99p Stores' has chosen Barry for its third branch, after already opening outlets in Swansea and Wrexham.
Co-founder and commercial director Hussein Lalani said their research had revealed Barry as an ideal location in which to base the expanding business.
"South Wales people know a bargain when they see one," he said.
"Because of the popularity of the Swansea store, and from research, we are now opening up in Barry." The new store will stock around 4,000 different 99p items, from cosmetics to gardening to fashion and bagged pick ‘n’ mix, and job information can be found at www.99pstoresltd.com The announcement of 30 full and part-time positions adds to the 30 jobs created when Tesco also opens its doors in Holton Road at 9am on Tuesday, October 6.
