WELSH singer-songwriters Lilygreen and Maguire’s week-long series of free open-air gigs throughout Wales brought them to Barry Island last Wednesday, April 18.
The trip to Barry was a nostalgic trip down memory lane for Jon Maguire.
"I was in a band with lads from Barry when I was a teenager," he said.
"I used to visit almost every weekend, so it felt like coming home, returning to the Island. It brought back a lot of fond memories.
"It was amazing to see that so many of our fans had turned up on such a rainy day."
Friends Jon Lilygreen and Jon Maguire, both from Newport, have just released their debut single Come On Get Higher on the Warner Music label and will release their EP Aint Love Crazy on June 11.
The duo have already built up a solid fan base after supporting X Factor runner-up Olly Murs on his recent arena tour of the UK and Ireland.
They are also well-known within the South Wales' music scene: Lilygreen as a covers performer and Maguire as a local music producer and member of a rock band.
They came together in 2009 when their talent was spotted by Warner Bros. Music who secured the duo a lucrative record deal. Their debut album will be released later this year.
