STAFF at Dogs Trust Cowbridge’s charity shop were greeted by queues of people one Saturday recently - all waiting to buy a piece of Sully resident John Barrowman!
The dog-loving star of stage and screen donated clothes and personal belongings to the shop, and so far more than £2,000 has been raised, with more still to come in.
Rhia Stankovic-Jones, Dogs Trust Cowbridge Charity Shop manager said: "We were amazed by the extent of John’s donation, and are delighted with the support his fans have shown and how this has translated into sales!
"We know he has a huge worldwide fan base but it seems he has a lot of local supporters too!
"Fans queued at the door to get a piece of the action, from suits he’s worn on TV to household goods."
One dedicated fan travelled from Nottingham, and spent £600 on items including shirts and a Ralph Lauren hoodie!
"If you weren’t able to make your way to the shop, we’ve put a number of items on our eBay site which are still taking bids," added Rhia.
Proceeds go towards the care of dogs in Dogs Trust rehoming centres. Find out more at www.dogstrust.org.uk
