A FURTHER £1 million investment has been made in Barry Island, after Pleasure Park owner went shopping in Prague last week.
Showman Henry Danter, and his family, continued with their £20m investment plan in which they hope to see the fairground attraction and Barry Island transformed into Wales’ top tourist destination within the next five years.
Mr Danter has already brought the £1.2m Pirate River log flume to the town with the Barry Eye Ferris Wheel currently being set up.
Mr Danter said: “I spent £1m on machines in Prague and that’s a big investment for Barry. When the weather is good we’ve got to take the money. We have to earn it to spend it.”
The Race-o-Rama became the latest attraction to move on the site which will see a mix of permanent and temporary attractions throughout the whole year.
